You changed my life.
To every girl I played with: I witnessed each of you doing what I thought was impossible in women’s sports. The way we endured the physical training and stressful situations together this season was nothing short of remarkable. While I cried like a baby almost every day for 2 months, you all were like soldiers. Fighting every moment of every day. I’ll never forget your strength, passion, and support. You all were there, ready to comfort me with empathy-filled eyes and loving hearts.
To our staff: You all worked tirelessly months before I even arrived in Korea to make this season special for everyone. You sacrificed so much to take care of us in the way you thought best and for that I will be forever grateful. Thank you for your sacrifices that go unnoticed and for all of the work you do behind the scenes that no camera could capture.
To our fans: You are like none other in the world of women’s sports. I witnessed first-hand what true fandom looks like for the first time ever in my whole career as a volleyball player. You guys made me feel like an NBA player this season, something I thought never existed in the world of volleyball. Walking out of the gym after matches to crowds of people - even in the cold rain or snow- was so magical. I’ll never forget those moments. Your extremely thoughtful letters and gifts will grace my house forever, as I cherish them with all of my heart.
